Master of Science in Cybersecurity

Program Updates, Summer 2018

Pacific's Master of Science in Cybersecurity is in the process of transitioning to a fully online graduate program starting in late 2019, subject to university and accreditor approval. Sign up to stay informed of these exciting developments. Due to this change, however, the cybersecurity program will not be admitting new students for Fall 2018 or Spring 2019.

About the Program

Pacific's Master of Science in Cybersecurity is a hands-on, laboratory-intensive graduate program offered by the School of Engineering and Computer Science. The program is open to students with a Bachelor's degree in any field, and professional work experience can be used to accelerate degree completion. Students complete 30 course units in a 1-year, full-time program or 2-year, part-time program. As part of the program, students learn a variety of in-demand skills, including:

  • Detecting and preventing network attacks
  • Network reconnaissance, intrusion, and data exfiltration from a defensive and offensive standpoint
  • Reverse engineering malware to understand its design, operation, and communications protocols
  • Identifying and preventing vulnerabilities in software applications
  • The role of cryptography in secure software development
  • Cybersecurity law and policy

At the end of the program, students are prepared to enter careers as cybersecurity professionals.
